Modern infotainment for your vehicle: The XZENT X-527 integrates perfectly into the dashboard of vehicles with a 2-DIN installation slot and offers the latest entertainment functions. That the XZENT is a really comfortable device to use, is already shown by the clear layout of the front, combining a large 6.75“/17.1 cm touchscreen of real glass with four sensor buttons, and a practical volume control knob. This enables simple, intuitive and completely safe control of the device, even while driving.

Universal infotainer

The XZENT X-527 is designed for vehicles with 2-DIN mounting slot provision. With a display size of 6.75“/17.1 cm, the device fits perfectly in most vehicles.

Capacitive TFT LCD touchscreen

The X-527 comes with a capacitive 6.75“/17.1 cm touchscreen display. The high-gloss, very clear real glass display impresses with rich contrast, brilliant colors and great luminosity.

Illuminated RGB multicolour hard keys

The hard keys enable accurate operation while driving. The lighting color of the hard keys can be variably adjusted so that the X-527 integrates perfectly into the cockpit ambience of almost any vehicle.

Smart connection: dock your mobile phone to the X-527

The X-527 provides for an easy and totally safe smartphone use in the car. The USB port on the device lets you dock your phone directly to the infotainer – the X-527 is Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto^TM certified. Making phone calls, use Google or Apple maps to find a destination, play music and send or receive messages is true mobile convenience where the choice is yours: control and operate apps either via device touchscreen or with Apple Siri or Google’s voice assistants.

Apple CarPlay

The device supports Apple CarPlay. With CarPlay, you can make phone calls, navigate, listen to music and control all supported functions via Siri voice control or the display.

Google Android Auto<sup>TM</sup>

The device is Google Android Auto^TM certified. With GAA you are able to access compatible apps and online services of your Android smartphone and operate them intuitively with the display of the device or the voice assistant from Google.

USB, DAB+ and FM: your entertainment on the road

The X-527 is equipped with a DAB+ tuner for a relaxed mobile digital radio experience in top quality. Aside of an FM RDS tuner, the X-527 is equipped with two USB 2.0 ports ports for playback of audio and video files and connect Apple iOS and Android smartphones.

DAB+ tuner

The X-527 features a DAB+ tuner offering MOT Slideshow, Comfort Scan, DAB-DAB and DAB-FM Service Following and DLS-text. The clear digital radio reception and the simple operation are additional score points.

FM RDS tuner

The FM RDS radio receiver of the X-527 uses DSPnoise masking for better sound quality in areas of weaker FM reception. The radio stations can be stored in 18 station presets.

A/V playback

Two rear USB ports, HDMI input and a broad media-file compatibility – the X-527 is ideally equipped for the latest A/V format playback. It supports MP3/FLAC/APE/AAC (for audio) and MPEG/H.264/MP4/AVI/MKV/FLV (for video).

Bluetooth handsfree + music streaming

Hands-free calling with with excellent voice quality, search function, phone book synchronization, import of up to 1,000 phone book contacts with 3 numbers each enable safe operation while driving.

Smart audio functions

The device features a 16-band graphic equalizer with six preset and two freely configurable sound profiles. In addition, there is a DSP-based 4.1 time alignment function with up to 10 mS/340 cm max. signal delay.

Connection of one camera system

The device allows the connection and control of one camera system, with additional grid line overlay option in the setup. The cam can also be manually controlled via touchscreen or the cam sensor key at the front.

SWC integration

The device provides for steering wheel button function support via IR-In interface, supporting connection of aftermarket SWC/CAN interfaces.

Does the X-527 set accessory include a DAB antenna?

No, there is no antenna included.

Does the X-527 set accessory include GPS antenna?

No, the X-527 is not a naviceiver with built-in navigation hardware. Navigation feature is provided via the smartphone features Apple CarPlay or Google Android Auto.

Operation

On ignition of the engine my XZENT device powers off and reboots again.

XZENT units include a low-voltage protection to avoid undersupply for certain integrated circuits (ICs) that may not work properly without correct and steady supply voltage. Please consult your car service point or car garage to review your car´s battery and wiring.

How is the X-527 system clock synchronized?

The clock can be manually set or synchronized via FM settings (see System Settings). The selected FM station needs to send the CT signal via RDS.

Installation

Which requirements does my car have to fulfill that the XZENT unit can be installed?

You need a 2-DIN slot for X-527. Depending on your car brand and model you may also need a CAN/STALK adapter or a mounting/installation kit. Your XZENT dealer may assist you here in detail.

Can I operate my XZENT device with my existing steering wheel control (SWC) elements?

Your SWC may be connected with an optional CAN/Stalk adapter. Details of functions (such as Mute, Pickup, Volume, Skip) are depending on the CAN/Stalk adapter itself. Please also note that your selected CAN/Stalk interface must be compatible to the XZENT IR/IN interface and also that an optional adapter cable ZEZ-XZENTLEAD is needed. Please contact your local XZENT dealer for further assistance.

Can I use the built-in OE hands free system of my car?

No, this is not possible. Stated models of XZENT already include a hands free feature. To avoid inter operability issues, it is strongly suggested to deactivate your car's built-in OE hands free system. You can do this by removing the correct fuse for that part (please read your car's manual).

My car is equipped with an active FM-antenna. Do I need an antenna feed adapter?

The X-527 needs power active antennas via P.ANT cable.

Camera

Does the device generate lines for the camera view and are they dynamically following the steering wheel position?

Yes, the device does generate static lines for the camera view. The lines can be displayed ON/OFF in the settings. The lines are static and not dynamic.

Bluetooth

How do I connect my mobile phone?

You need to connect your XZENT via your smartphone or start a scan from X-527. In case of Apple CarPlay or Google Android Auto first time connection, it will be automatically paired on USB connection with the smartphone.

Changes in the contacts of my smartphone are not adopted automatically to the X-527 BT mode?

Your smartphone contacts will only be downloaded after your confirmation during the first connection after search & pair. Any later changes made to your contacts must be refreshed manually (see manual). In case of Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto, the phone is in charge of managing the contacts.

Can I edit a saved favorite contact?

It is not possible to edit favorites. However, you have to delete and re-assign a new contact after you refreshed the downloaded phonebook on your XZENT device.

CarPlay & Android Auto

How do I start these features?

Your smartphone should fulfil all prerequisites and needs to be connected to the CP/GAA USB port of your device – the second USB port is only for USB media or charging feature. You can find more detailed instruction on the initial operation and additional web links in your copy of the user manual.

Can I use wireless function?

No, this device does not include any WiFi hardware.

I cannot find the Android Auto app in the Google Playstore?

Google Android Auto is not (yet) available in all countries worldwide. Google itself does not publish any availability data for the Android Auto app. You can, however, register at https://www.android.com/auto/ with your email address to be notified of the Android Auto availability in your country. Android Phone with Android OS 9 and lower do need the app from Playstore. Android OS Phone 10 and higher have the app integrated and do not need an additional app.

Media

Is it possible to play A/V files from my smartphone?

Please use Apple CarPlay or Google Android Auto for smartphone media playback.

Is there an automatic volume increase on broadcasted traffic announcements?

No. TA broadcast cannot be saved with a different volume value.

Navigation

How do I navigate with the X-527?

Please use Apple CarPlay or Google Android Auto which provide navigation via smartphone functionality.

Why do I need software updates?

We provide in periods system enhancements and increased compatibility for Bluetooth, to keep your device up to date with the latest software.
